Re: David Nelson Band (non-dead) |
The jams offered in Fable and Wicked Messenger on 12-19 left no doubt in my mind that Garcias spirit is alive and well and in the capable hands of David Nelson ,(and Gans.)
I haven't seen the DND since 98 when he shared a bill w/ Zero and The Zen Tricksters and it was great but not the boogie explosion he laid out on 12/19/09 ( different guitarist maybe?).
Whatever it is (was), your suggestion was a magical listening experience for me, sorta like having my GD fuel tank topped off for a roadtrip to points as yet unknown, and w/ DNB in the tape deck I know I'll be enjoying the ride.
Aloha SkyDawg ! peace.

Re: David Nelson Band (non-dead) |
If you enjoyed the jams in Fable and Wicked Messenger then check out this clip of them when they played here two years ago with Billy Kreutzmann on drums for the Hawaii shows. This band is awesome!
There is no different guitarists though. It's still David Nelson on rhythm and Barry Sless on lead guitar and pedal steel. Pete Sears on bass & vocals, Mookie Siegel on keys and vocals and usually John Molo on drums. For this vacation tour Joe Chirco was on drums. Two years ago Billy Kreutzmann played drums on the Hawaii leg.
